Quotes and Comments
The ideal of a healthy life is not a new fad created by "health nuts." Nor is criticism of medicine limited to just a few ungrateful past patients. For instance, in 1750, Voltaire stated: "We put drugs of which we know little into bodies of which we know less to cure diseases of which we know nothing at all." This quote is as apropos today as it was in 1750 since there has been no improvment in the curing of diseases...only more and more potent potions with more serious side effects.
In 1900, Thomas A Edison stated: "The doctor of the future will give no medicine...but will interest his patients in the area of...the human body, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease." (Is this what your doctor does?)
As you can see, health has been important to the great minds for centuries. Unfortunately, greed and/or primitive thinking has controlled health and medicine ever since the days of the medicine men who claimed illnesses were caused by evil spirits. The medicine men used rattles and chants and secret potions and magic spells to chase away those evil spirits. Sometimes they were "successful" and their patients lived; sometimes they were unsuccessful and their patients died. Sound familiar???
Time passed and the medicine men became civilized. During the Middle Ages, diseases were determined to be caused by Satan and his imps. It was also determined that the carrier of all diseases was the blood. So, of course, the cure required removal of the patient's blood. The medicine men used the procedure of blood-letting which was cutting open a vein and allowing a pint or two of blood to bleed out. (This procedure is what killed George Washington.) This procedure was later improved to where the medicine men used leeches to suck out the blood.
More time passed and the medicine men became more civilized and called themselves doctors or physicians. They also identified the evil spirits and called them bacteria or germs. The treatment to eliminate the bacteria was stronger and stronger potions. It follows that the smaller the evil spirits, the stronger the poison, oops, I mean, the medicine had to be.
A little more time passed and they found an even smaller evil spirit which they called a virus. (If a bacterium were an elephant, a virus would be a flea.) These evil spirits were so small that very, very toxic potions were necessary to fight them. It was a choice that had to be made: kill the virus or kill the patient (sometimes both). If the evil spirits get any smaller, the medicine men will have to train friendly viruses to develope microscopes and medicines.
Now-a-days, the fad is to blame diseases on genes - the new evil spirits. (Defective genes are just more evidence that God didn't know what He was doing when He designed the human being. )
It doesn't occur to our current day medicine men (at least not to most of them) that billions of hours of research and the hundreds of billions of dollars (pounds, francs, yen, marks, etc.) spent have produced nothing (but wealth for many). Nor have they proven that these tiny things are actually disease-causing evil spirits. It is only opinion. As Dr. David Scott said in 1973: "A virus may be present in disease, but that doesn't prove that the virus is the cause of the disease. This line of logic is like saying 'Flies cause dirty garbage cans.'" It is also like saying, "Vultures kill their food." The facts are that flies and vultures are scavengers and do not cause or kill anything. Bacteria and viruses are scavengers also and not disease-causing evil spirits they are portrayed to be by the modern medicine men. (It is also possible that bacteria may exacerbate a condition while not causing it.)
The true cause of disease is as Dr. Alan Immerman said in 1983: "Peolple cause their own disease. There are indeed ways to deal with disease that are not destructive to the body. We can choose not to cause our own diseases." Or, as Thomas Moffett said in 1600: "Men dig their own graves with their teeth and die more by those fated instruments than by the weapons of their enemies." Even Florence Nightingale, in 1860, said: "The 'Specific Disease Doctrine' is the grand refuge of the weak, uncultured, unstable minds - such as now rule the medical profession. There are no specific diseases - there are only specific disease conditions." Also, as Dr. Ralph Bircher Bener said in 1900: "The first law of Nutritional Economy is: Every excess of food and calories - and particularly of proteins (such as meat) - works not to a person's advantage, but to a deterioration of his health." The Man of Nature, Henry David Thoreau, said in 1850: "Every man and every woman is the builder of a temple called 'the body. We are all sculptors and painters, and our material is our own flesh, blood and bones. Any nobleness begins at once to refine one's features."
So, we can either cause disease by eating the wrong foods or we can build a healthy temple by listening to Mother Nature (God). We can either listen to the multitude of greedy little minds or we can follow the health-promoting advice of great minds. Dr. Ralph Cinque put it well when, in 1981, he said: "Your ability to reason is your most valuable and indispensible tool for achieving your own survival and your own happiness. But, remember, it doesn't come automatically. You can choose 'to think' or 'not to think.' Be firm in your conviction that to consciously and rationally and objectively examine the facts of reality is always the best alternative you have, regardless of the circumstances you face. Be certain that there is no deception more vile and more destructive than self-deception."
To Eat or Not to Eat -
That is the question:
Whether it is better to eat what is healthful or what is popular;
Whether it is better to follow the path of health with a few or to
wade through the swamp of illness with the many;
Whether it is better to live 100 healthy years or 70 sickly years.
Author:Dave MacKenzie
That is a question Shakespeare can't help you with - you must decide for yourself.
If you really want to be healthy, you have to be determined to take positive steps. The first is to acknowledge that a problem exists and that the problem is that you must listen to Mother Nature and not to your parents, your friends, the medicine men, the media, the government, etal. You, then, must have a sustained, burning desire to be healthy even if it is unpopular with everyone you know. It is an important choice - health or popularity. You must decide to take immediate action to achieve the goal of excellent health and, if you trip and fall on the way, to get up and get right back on the right path - the golden path to health and happiness.
In the beginning, it is very difficult to persevere (especially when you have adverse effects as your body is cleansing itself as discussed previously). Be as resolved to fight in the Revolution of Health as our forefathers were resolved to fight the American Revolution. If you fight the tyranny of the medicine men and addiction to the wrong foods, you can win freedom from disease as our forefathers won freedom from the tyranny of a foreign government. As you start to benefit from your efforts, perseverence will become easier and easier. Youthfulness will be restored because of obedience to the Laws of Nature. Mental and emotional problems will shrink and disappear.
The best reward of good health is freedom. Freedom from the diseases, freedom from many physical dependencies, freedom from medication, freedom from financial dependency, and freedom from the tyranny of the medicine men.
In Conclusion
There is an old cliche' that says: the path to hell is paved with good intentions. This keeps coming to mind whenever I think about modern medicine.
Most of its practitioners are not evil people. They try to do what they believe is good and to protect us from what they perceive as the dark forces of illness and disease. Their desire to find a answer, to find a place of safety from the dark forces of illness, is understandable and even commendable --- but it is not science. Even worse, it is dangerous since they are following the wrong path.
A temporary easing of symptoms of an illness or disease is all medicines and drugs can offer. Whereas, the adverse side-effects of the medicines and drugs are cumulative and long-lasting. The longer a drug is used the more serious the effects and the more likely the damage will be permanent or fatal. All physicians know this but they try to balance between the risk and what they perceive as the reward - the temporary easing.
Medical practitioners continue to use toxic drugs, cancer-causing radiation, and knives to cut pieces out of their patients rather than do what many studies have proven --- listen to Mother Nature, co-operate with Mother Nature.
(The current practice of medicine has tried to separate science and spirit...to rupture the interconnectiveness between the body and the soul. For the last century, this had been done quite successfully. But the inevitability of the body/soul attraction is slowly making a comeback into medical practice and the various sciences.)
One of those studies was reported by the Yale University School of Medicine in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (Feb., 1994). The findings were that raw fruits and vegetable rich in beta carotene lowers the risk of lung cancer in both cigarette smokers and non-smokers. This is just one of many studies that prove that the correct diet can cure and, more importantly, prevent serious illness. But has the modern medicine men given up toxic drugs, deadly radiation, and the knife?
No, they just continue on - status quo.
Are you aware that there are now over 10,000 "diseases" recognized by the American Medical Association? Do you believe that every (any) medical practitioner knows the name of all of them, let alone the symptoms and the "correct" treatment? If you do, I'll bet you also believe that Superman is a real person and that the Easter bunny lays colored eggs.
Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine and the author of the Hippocatic Oath (which is no longer used), advised: "Physician, heal thyself." The truth of his advice was that, if the physician was unable to heal himself, he wouldn't be competent to heal others. Also contained in that profound advice is the physician would not be able to do his best if the physician were ailing.
The advice that was given to the individual also applies to the group. So, let's take a look at the medical fraternity to see how well they heal themselves. There were two studies made of professional groups. One showed that physicians have the highest rate of alcoholism, the highest rate of drug addiction, and the highest rate of suicide. The other study showed, not surprisingly, that they also have the lowest life expectancy (58).
Does that seem to you that the physicians are taking the advice of the Father of Medicine? Are they healing themselves? Of course, not! Can we trust them to heal us if they can't heal themselves? Of course, not!
Your health is your responsibility and you are the only one who can do anything substantial about it. Listen to Mother Nature.
As stated previously, diseases are symptoms and symptoms are messages from your body that something is wrong. Whether the symptom is minor (headache, bad breath, cough, etc.) or serious (cancer, arthritis, Alzeimers, etc.) or in between, the symptom should not be treated with a toxic drug or the knife (scalpel) or radiation or any of the other failed collection of treatments used by the anti-Nature medicos.
Co-operation with Mother Nature allows the body to heal itself. So, listen to the messages (symptoms) --- do not kill the messenger.
According to a 1993 survey of the seventy-nine largest nations in the world, the U.S.A. ranked 79th in national health. This in spite of the fact that the U.S.A. has the highest per capita consumption of dairy products and meat products. This in spite of the fact that the U.S. citizen has the most medical care, the largest medicine usage and the highest medical technolgy available.
With this supposedly excellent diet and unsurpassed medical availabilty, we should have had the highest ranking instead of the lowest. So, why the lowest? Could it be that those foods and that medical care actually contribute to poor health?
Heart disease and cancer are not inevitable side effects of aging or genetics. Nor are any of the other so-called degenerative diseases. The facts are that we have not been told the truth. Cancer and all the other "diseases" are not diseases - they are symptoms of the one true disease- - -toxemia (a.k.a. toxicosis). Cancer, etc. are the body's naturally occuring conditions (symptoms) in response to an unhealthfully lived lifestyle, especially diet.
Symptoms, being messengers from your body (and God) and also functions of cleansing, should not be treated with medications since the treatment is the equivalent of killing the messenger and no cure is achieved and the body is further poisoned. That increases the toxicosis.
Nor is surgery the answer since all that surgery does is remove a part of the body that has been damaged by the toxicosis. But the cause (toxemia) remains in the body to show up elsewhere in the body with a different symptom/disease.
The cause must be removed - - - not the symptom (message from Mother Nature). The only way to remove the cause is to co-operate with Nature...healthful living.
Habit is habit, but just because you are conditioned to act or eat in a certain way, don't think you have to be stuck with that behavior. You can change. It will be a difficult struggle...but you can master yourself if you really want to have good health and a happly life.
Decide to choose Health!!! It is far easier to avoid serious illness than to recuperate from one...or two...or more illnesses.
Dr. Herbert M. Sheldon said: "There is a special glow and vibrancy about good health. It is not simply freedom from disease. As you change your way of life, you begin to perceive through your own personal encounters, rather than through what you were taught. You taste, touch, see, smell and hear with greater sensitivity. You begin to realize how very beautiful you are, and you feel and become an integral part of the ecological process and the human experience - a vital part of the universe. Slowly, you evolve into an aware human being."

Who is strong? He that can conquer bad habits! Ben Franklin, 1770
Most people are about as happly as they make up their minds to be.
Abraham Lincoln, 1850
Physical, mental, and moral integrity constitute our most precious possessions - a balanced, sound mind in a balanced, sound body. We have the moral obligation to ourselves, our dear ones, our society, our posterity, and our maker to strive for optimum health through obedience to natural laws governing health. The physical, mental and moral health of the people of any nation is more important that its gross national product.
Harry Kaplan
The secret of getting rid of old, destructive habits lies in loving and respecting yourself so much that you do not succumb to the addictive stimulation that is so powerfully projected to make us puppets on the strings of the Madison Avenue manipulators.
Jo Willard, 1982

Many people are under the mistaken notion that toxins can enter the body only by mouth. This is incorrect to the extreme.
Toxins can enter the body through your nose and through your skin also.
Everything you breathe enters your body, e.g. automobile fumes, tobacco smoke, chemical fumes, air fresheners, perfumes, etc., etc.
Up to 60% of what is applied to your skin is absorbed into your body depending on how long it is on your skin and how strong the substance is.
So, your elimination system is stressed even if you don't ingest toxic substances.
My own rule of thumb is: if I wouldn't eat or drink the substance, I won't apply it to my skin or breathe it intentionally. The only exception being a mild, unscented soap that is rinsed off in a few seconds.
Well, you can breathe a sigh of relief because this is THE END.

When Will They Meet?
A mathematician, a physicist and an engineer were each given the following problem to solve.
A school dance floor included a straight line down the middle dividing the floor in two equal halves. Boys were lined up against one wall and girls against the opposite wall, each facing the centre line. They were instructed to advance in stages towards the centre line every ten seconds, where the distance from the person to the centre line at each stage is equal to one-half the distance at the past stage.
i.e.: If the starting distance from the wall to centre line was D, the progressive series of distances at t = 0, 10 seconds, 20 seconds...10n seconds to the centre line is (D, D/2, D/4, D/8, .....D/2n)
The question is, when will they meet at the middle?
The mathematician said that they would never meet.
The physicist said they would meet when time equals infinity.
The engineer said that in one minute they would be close enough for all practical purposes.

God the Parent
Whenever your kids are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to God's kids.
After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing He said to them was: "Don't."
"Don't what?" Adam asked.
"Don't eat the Forbidden Fruit." God replied.
"Forbidden fruit? We got Forbidden Fruit? Hey, Eve..we got Forbidden Fruit!"
"No way!"
"Where?"
"Don't eat that fruit!" said God.
"Why?"
"Because I am your Creator and I said so!" said God, wondering why he hadn't stopped after making the elephants.
A few minutes later God saw the kids having an apple break and was angry.
"Didn't I tell you not to eat that fruit?" the 'First Parent' asked.
"Uh huh," Adam replied.
"Then why did you?"
"I dunno," Eve answered.
"She started it!" Adam said.
"Did not!"
"DID so!"
"DID NOT!"
Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own...thus the pattern was set, and it has never changed.
